…glory in the unbridled joy of getting your game on.

Remember what it was like to be a kid again, and play until the streetlights came on? Theatre Lab took over the playground at the Shaw Street School for the world premiere of Halcyon Youth, presented as part of the 2011 Toronto International Fringe Festival. The audience was invited to challenge the students of Shaw Street School to a game of ball-hockey with a different member of the Toronto arts community joining the Audience team. All profits from the show were returned to the Givins/Shaw Junior Public School, and juice boxes were served at the end of each game—win or lose. The piece was developed with the students and School Council, and each show offered audience members a completely unique experience that transported them back to a simpler time.
